cPickle.o


That was my reaction too - what the hell is cPickle. I’m sure it has a perfectly legitimate purpose, but at the same time I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an inside joke. You see - cPickle.o was the filename of an intermediate file that was created when I was emerging my system files. In any case, the long wait is over, well, the longest wait is over. I am currently compiling my soundcard drivers and that is taking a long time - as did compiling my kernel.

I think that I am getting close, the next thing that I am doing is choosing a system logger and a cron daemon then creating a user for day to day use. If this install works I will be very pleased as I have had two unsuccessful Linux experiences - both with Debian. However this time, I have some good instructions and a solid recommendation. I might get this going by bed time :)
