Crystal Clear Water

I mentioned last weekend that I went swimming. Well I did it again yesterday and it felt even better. I can tell that my swimming stamina had increased, if only by a little bit. The difference yesterday was that the beach and dock were relatively busy. A couple of local families plus a number of teens were hanging around. I spent some time basking in the sun to warm up before finally jumping in.

Unfortunately today I just went down to check the conditions and it is a bit too windy to swim there. Some largish waves would make swimming uncomfortable, border-line dangerous, so I’m going to pass on that today. I did a small exercise routine at home instead and might hit up the gym this evening if I get a chance.

However, thanks to a re-tweet by Tim Ferriss the other day, I think I can speed up my weight-loss again. It felt like it had plateaued there for a bit. Normally I drink a fair bit of water in a given day, but it is one of those things where it is quite variable. I suspect that on many days I wasn’t getting enough water… particularly those days where I have a lot of meetings. So yesterday I bought a couple of one litre bottles of water and my goal will be to drink two of them each day (at least).

The good news is that it seems to be helping. I went all last week with no weight loss, but dropped 7lbs in two days. I suspect both the water I’ve been drinking plus the water I’ve been swimming in are both contributing. As of this morning, I’m only 2.6lbs off from my original weight goal. If I were a betting man, I’d put money on me crossing that line by next Sunday.

Of course, I have no intention of stopping there. I will still be aiming at my size 38 waist, which is almost there, and will essentially keep going until at least my birthday, which was my original timeline. Can I do 225lbs? Maybe… :)
