Easy-Bake Icons

I’m sure that some of you have created windows icons (*.ico) before, or perhaps you tried and weren’t that successful. There are some free icon editors out there, and there are some commercial ones too, but any that I’ve tried tend to be pretty limited and not always very easy to use.

Enter [png2ico][0] — a freeware utility that will convert png files to Windows icons. Now you just need to create a 16 by 16 pixel PNG file, for which you can use any number of better suited image editors. The only reason that any sensible non-Windows user would want these icons are for your website’s favicon.ico file. This is the file which most graphical browsers request as an icon to represent your site in the location bar or with bookmarks.
