Brain Body Heart Wellness Challenge

Pembroke, Bermuda

Welcome to my wellness log. Here is where I kept track of my progress through a 30-day wellness challenge run by my employer from Wednesday, April 1, 2020 to Thursday, April 30, 2020. The goal being to provide an incentive to take better care of ourselves as we are isolated due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

There were 1075 points available through a series of daily activities that needed to be completed. Nothing too strenuous, with a focus on the brain, body and the heart. And by heart, they mean emotional well-being, which is technically the brain again, but it sounds better this way. The details of each of the daily activities are outlined below.

All of the daily activities are captured in the series of daily pages I have added below. In addition, there was a single bonus activity worth 25 points to perform an act of meaningful kindness towards someone else.

The details of that are listed in my Spring Cleaning article. Overall I was able to collect all of the points available for myself. I feel glad that doing my part helped my office claim victory in the global competition.

Each day was worth a maximum of 35 points. This is the list of each day’s article.

BODY

  • 5-10 points for walking 5,000 to 10,000 steps.
  • 5 points for drinking at least 2 litres of water.

HEART

  • 5 points for socializing (virtually) with colleagues.
  • 5 points for journalling three things you are grateful for.

BRAIN

  • 5 points for 30+ minutes of reading.
  • 5 points for 30+ minutes of brain puzzles/games.
